Administration Relocation

The JW Group personnel were responsible for the development of communications infrastructure requirements for the relocation of KCAB Administrative Offices. The relocation of the KCAB personnel included several areas around the airport campus with the main focus being on a commercial building that was recently vacated. The communications infrastructure included a review and assessment of the communications rooms, backbone and horizontal cabling, local area network, and VoIP system. Recommendations were provided to KCAB presenting the modifications required to support the KCAB Administrative Offices relocation. A major component to the recommendation was an upgrade of the telephony system to a VoIP system that was shown through schematic diagrams and cost estimates.

Information Technology Master Plan (ITMP) and Shared Tenant Services (STS) Analysis

The JW Group completed a technology master plan for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Included in the ITMP was a review and analysis of the campus communications infrastructure and telecommunications services for the Kenton County Aviation Board (KCAB) and its tenants on the airport campus. The recommendations provided in the ITMP included the provisioning of tenant communications services through revenue sharing agreements with third party providers. The initial phase of implementation was to develop Request for Proposal documentation for a third party provider to implement an in-building Distributed Antenna System, coordinate with and manage the cellular carriers that will utilize the system, and manage the overall program. The contractual agreement includes a revenue sharing agreement with a Minimum Annual Guarantee to KCAB with no initial capital outlay.

The initial phase of implementation also included the development of a wireless (Wi-Fi) program through a third party that provides wireless Internet access to the public through a tiered approach with free and paid options, and wireless services to the Airport tenants. This program also includes a revenue sharing agreement with a Minimum Annual Guarantee to KCAB with no initial capital outlay.

Future phases of implementation are expected to include a similar agreement with third parties to provide voice and data services to KCAB and its tenants.

Hosted VoIP Solution RFP

The JW Group (JWG) personnel was responsible for the development of Hosted VoIP System RFP documentation including project definition and Scope of Work development. JWG worked in cooperation with KCAB to define the technical and functional requirements on how the VoIP solutions should operate for the organization.
