Mineta San José International Airport (airport code SJC) is located in the heart of Silicon Valley, 3 miles north from downtown San José, California, and only 45 miles from San Francisco. The airport has two terminals, Terminal A & International Arrivals and the new Terminal B (June 2010). Serving 8.2 million passengers annually, San José has non-stop service to cities throughout the US, Hawaii and Mexico. In 2010, Terminal B was given LEED Silver certification for sustainable design and construction.
JWG personnel were responsible for all activities associated with the design and development of a campus-wide premises distribution system, a Multi-User Flight Information Display System, a Common Use Passenger Processing System, and a public information and paging visual display system.
The JW Group assisted the City of San Jose in developing a recommended organizational model for supporting IT systems and applications at the San Jose International Airport. To support this project the JW Group reviewed and documented the existing information technology (IT) support model, reviewed and analyzed alternate methodologies, and provided a recommended support model to the City of San Jose that better aligns with the Department of Aviation’s current business processes. The recommendations developed as part of this project were used as the basis for developing procurement documentation to solicit and select third party service providers to assist the City in supporting technology systems.
