Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport (airport code MSP) is in the middle of the twin cities and is also a short driving distance from the Minnesota metropolitan areas of Bloomington, Eagan, Brooklyn Park and Richfield. The airport ranks 15th in North America for passenger traffic and is the 12th busiest in the US with over 32 million travelers annually. The airport has two terminal buildings, Terminal 1-Lindberg and Terminal 2-Humphrey. Twelve air carriers provide non-stop service to 114 domestic and 21 international markets.

Project Description

The technology needs at Minneapolis St. Paul have expanded significantly in the past 3 years. As the Airlines continue to reduce operating costs, the Airport has been forced to take on ownership of numerous antiquated technology systems. In addition, the Information Technology Group is currently planning the upgrade or replacement of numerous core business and security systems.

Services Rendered

Security System Upgrade and Replacement - Includes removal and replacement of 700 door and gate access devices with smart card and biometric technology. The scope also includes development of a phasing program to re-badge more than 16,000 card holders and integration with a point of sale and integration with an 800 camera CCTV system.
Upgrade and Replacement of the current CCTV systems (over 1,800 cameras)
Information technology network and system analysis and development of a campus-wide LAN to support all systems and applications
Design and implementation of the local area network and physical infrastructure to support the CCTV system
