Project On-Call IT Consulting Services
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is located in Orlando Florida, and is owned and managed by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. MCO is the closest commercial airport to Central Florida’s world-class attractions, the Orange County Convention Center, and the downtown business district. MCO is the busiest airport in Florida (by the number of passengers) owing to Orlando's popularity as a tourist destination and its enormous residential and commercial growth. Over 80 airlines, and approximately 30 million total passengers, travel to almost 100 domestic and international destinations at MCO. The airport has two terminals and 129 gates.
Project Description
As part of a multidisciplinary team, JWG is providing the overall on-site Program and Project management as well as technical expertise to support the multi-year On-Call IT Consulting Services engagement. As part of this effort, JWG successfully planned, implemented and launched a customer facing mobile application with push messaging/notification, indoor navigation, and wayfinding utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. Additionally, JWG performed preliminary planning and design efforts for fiber pathways and duct banks along the west side of the airport to provide fault tolerance and to support new development. JWG developed new rates and charges for wired and wireless data as part of an update to the shared tenant services offerings.
The JW Group is providing program/project management and support to the CCure 9000 access control and badging systems including software and hardware upgrades, as well as the development of a server replacement migration plan including the development of a standard server architecture. JWG has also been tasked with developing the next phase of the customer facing mobile applications which will include expanded functionality and features with integrations to other systems and data sets passengers are wanting to view as part of a customer facing mobile application.
