Project Business Process Redesign and ERP Requirements Definition

Strategic/Operational, Technology Planning

Eppley Airfield (OMA) is a medium hub airport located three miles northeast of Omaha, in Douglas County, Nebraska. It is the largest airport in Nebraska and is named for Eugene C. Eppley. The airport occupies 2,650 acres and handles approximately 75-80 airline flights per day to 16 non-stop destinations. Eppley has three terminals and two passenger concourses.

Project Description

The JW Group is responsible for the initial planning of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to replace a number of disparate systems and custom developed database applications. As part of this effort JW Group staff members documented current processes and developed new “to-be” business processes for accounting and finance, human resources, time and attendance, payroll, procurement and inventory management, asset management and work order management as well as properties, and lease and revenue management. These redesigned processes provided for efficiencies in the business operations at OMA and improved continuity across the organization. The processes also provide the required enterprise strategy and roadmap for the ERP implementation. In addition, JWG developed the system requirements, rough order of magnitude costs and request for proposal (RFP) documentation for the new ERP system.
